Erie County Legislator Joseph C. Lorigo announces that a free guided walk through Emery Park will be held on Saturday, May 18, kicking off this season's Walk in the Park Series. Registration begins at 9 a.m at the Field House, 2084 Emery Road, South Wales.

Local Artist Brings Canvas to Life with Incredible Nature Scenes

Lancaster native Phillip Schulte has always loved the great outdoors. The avid fly fisherman and outdoorsman also happens to be a very talented artist specializing in acrylic painting. And now, his two passions have come together with the release of five prints — and the results are truly stunning.

The five acrylic painting available as prints include a peregrine falcon, steelhead trout, cheetah, grizzly bears and a Kestrel falcon. Additional wildlife prints will be available in the near future.

The Erie County Legislature's Minority Caucus announces that the 2013 Hazardous Waste Drop-off Days have been scheduled:

  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at Erie Community College North Campus, enter from Wehrle Drive
  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15 at Erie Community College South Campus, enter from Big Tree Road - Route 20A via Abbott Road

Items which can be brought to the site for free, proper disposal include:

4-H Informational Meeting Wednesday at Hilbert College

Erie County Legislators Lynne Dixon, Joseph Lorigo and John Mills, in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension – Erie County, are pleased to announce that an informational meeting to highlight the many exciting programs available through 4-H will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at Hilbert College’s Swan Auditorium, 5200 South Park Ave., Hamburg. 4-H families and coordinators will be available to answer questions and share their experiences about being a member of 4-H. With an extensive list of opportunities available to youths, ages 5-19, the informational meeting will discuss what programs are offered and how to get involved.
