Jamestown, NY – On Veterans Day, Friday, November 11, 2016, the Audubon Community Nature Center is presenting a day of bird activities and lessons.
From 1 to 3 p.m. several stations will be set up throughout the Nature Center for self-guided learning about birds.
Use binoculars, you can spot birds from the Windows on Wildlife. Or take the Bird Scavenger Hunt challenge.
You will be able to examine bird feathers and nests, make a pine cone bird feeder (free or donation), and make a wooden bird feeder (for an extra fee).
A limited number of bird fun Scout patches will be available. Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and other interested children can request an activities sheet at the welcome desk. After completing at least four of the activities, a fun patch can be purchased on a first-come first-served basis for $3.
