Rescue Groups from Across WNY are Expecting ... Kittens!

Rescue Groups from Across WNY are Expecting ... Kittens!

Kitten season is in full swing, and to help find homes for the cuddly kittens in their care, the partner organizations of the Maddie’s® Pet Rescue Project are hosting a Kitten Shower on June 25, 2011.  The City of Buffalo Animal Shelter, HEART, SPCA Serving Erie County, and Ten Lives Club will be present at the Galleria Mall on the lower level near the Apple Store from 11:00am - 2:00pm.  Scores of cats will be available in all ages and colors.

Presently overwhelmed with kittens, the Maddie’s® Project partners need to work quickly to place them in loving homes.  Those adopters who bring a “gift” to the shower, such as towels, scratchers, or plastic carriers, will receive a reduced adoption fee.  Fees, which will vary by organization, include the cost of spay/neuter surgery and vaccinations.

Dave Mutton Memorial Race to Benefit The Make-A-Wish Foundation

Their wish is to keep their father’s memory alive. Their hope is that the public will join them in an event that not only accomplishes that mission, but also fulfills others’ wishes.

Dylan Mutton, 12, and his brother, Maxwel, 10, have planned the Dave Mutton Memorial Race to benefit The Make-A-Wish Foundation of WNY for Saturday, June 18, at MXK Raceway, 800 Bullis Road, Elma.

Dave Mutton passed away in 2002, and the Indy-style qualifying go-kart race will benefit Make-A-Wish because the charity was Dave’s passion.

“His love of his boys, his favorite foundation, Make-A-Wish, and go-karting were the inspiration for the Dave Mutton Memorial Race,” said Jennifer Mutton Morganti, Dylan and Maxwel’s mother. “Now the boys are older and are excited about keeping their dad’s memory alive through the race.”
