Professional Carpet and Floor Cleaning Will Wash Away the Remnants of Summer

Professional Carpet and Floor Cleaning Will Wash Away the Remnants of Summer

The calendar has turned to September and the kids are back in school. For the first time in a long time, the house is going to be empty and quiet for several hours a day. Sounds like a good time to have your carpets and flooring professionally cleaned!

“When you have kids and they have friends over all summer long, your flooring throughout the house can take a real beating,” said Edmund Bedient, owner of Clear Choice Cleaning Services in West Seneca and the father of five active children. “Add a pet or pets into the mix and you’re only adding to the problem. So take advantage of the school days and have your carpets and floors professionally cleaned, especially with the holidays right around the corner!”

A sparkling clean home is also extremely important if you are considering putting your house on the market at any time in the near future.

Local Educator Discovers How to Unleash Children's Love for Nature

Local Educator Discovers How to Unleash Children's Love for Nature

Like many of us with a few years under our belt, Dave Bauer grew up in an era before video games and cellphones, when children enthusiastically played in the great outdoors until the streetlights went on. He thoroughly enjoyed exploring his natural surroundings, leaving no stone unturned and being completely intrigued by the creepy crawlers found in the soil beneath.

Bauer’s youthful appreciation of nature led to a successful career as a teacher of environmental science and training others in creative thinking, change leadership and living sustainability. Following his retirement from the teaching profession, he turned his attention to several projects focused on reconnecting today’s youth with nature.

With WNY on the Upswing, Low-income Families Finding Fewer Quality Housing Opportunities

With WNY on the Upswing, Low-income Families Finding Fewer Quality Housing Opportunities

The City of Buffalo is seeing a resurgence that many of us never thought we would see in our lifetime. New buildings are going up and businesses that never gave Buffalo serious thought are now lining up to purchase commercial space for immediate and future development, all of which is tremendous news for the city by the lake and its surrounding suburbs.

As a result, housing prices are also skyrocketing. Again, that’s good news if you currently own a home in the 716. For those now looking to buy, many are already finding themselves priced out of the market. And those who rent, especially in the city, are dealing with dramatically increasing monthly payments, making the cost of quality rental housing a big burden on our low-income residents.

Solar Panels Just Became a Work of Art in Western New York

Solar Panels Just Became a Work of Art in Western New York

As the desire for solar energy continues to grow both locally and across the nation, we’re seeing rooftop solar units with much greater frequency and in practically every neighborhood. And if you look a little closer, you’ll also see pole-mounted solar panels popping up in back yards and open fields in both rural and urban communities.

But thanks to Buffalo Solar Solutions Inc., solar energy in Western New York just entered a whole new world, one that combines solar panels, architecture and ingenuity to introduce a new option for homeowners that is as artistically eye-opening as it is energy efficient.

What is believed to be Western New York’s first solar pergola was recently constructed for a Lancaster homeowner, and the end result is sure to generate excitement for those seeking a clean energy option that adds to the overall beauty of their home and landscaping.
