WNY Soldier Surprises Daughter at School

BUFFALO, NY - It is a day a soldier will never forget and a moment his 10-year-old daughter dreamed about and it came true.

Sgt. William Taylor has been deployed with the Army National Guard 27th Brigade Alpha Company since January 2012. He returned home and decided he and his family would surprise his daughter at her school in Orchard Park.

It was a beautiful scene inside Windom Elementary. The superintendent of Orchard Park Schools was taking pictures, the children in the cafeteria were silent as Victoria raced into her father's arms.

"It was amazing, I didn't think she could run that fast," said Sgt. Taylor.

80-members of the New York Army National Guard returned to the Air Reserve base in Niagara Falls.  We have the stories of Ryan Edwards as his mother cried as he arrived.

Trinier Gray was greeted by balloons and a mother jumping up and down with excitement that her son was home and safe.

Sgt. Raymond Faltisco was elated to see his parents and his girlfriend.
