West Seneca Farmers’ Market to Conclude Season with Customer Appreciation Day

 

Main Street Marketplace, West Seneca’s popular open-air farmers’ and food producers’ marketplace sponsored by the Western New York Federal Credit Union, will conclude its 2015 season with Customer Appreciation Day from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3.

The weekly market takes place on the grassy hill at the corner of Union Road and Main Street, next to West Seneca Town Hall. The outdoor venue features nearly 30 vendors selling a wide variety of products. In the event of unfavorable weather, the market moves into the parking lot in front of the West Seneca Ice Rink.

The Greater East Aurora Chamber of Commerce’s 46th annual Street Festival & Sidewalk Sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 25, on Main Street in the beautiful Village of East Aurora. The event will feature more than 100 vendors, plenty of activities for kids and families, bargains on a wide variety of items and much more!

Sometimes, a terrible situation can bring out the absolute best in people.

When word got out that two iPads were recently stolen from Dog Ears Bookstore & Café in South Buffalo after someone broke into the nonprofit community bookstore after business hours, many individuals from South Buffalo and beyond stepped up with donations and offers of support. One such individual was Garret Cleversley, CEO of MacSolutions Plus, an Apple-authorized retail store and service center located in the Eastern Hills Mall.

Cake Crazy Bakery & Catering is celebrating its six-month anniversary this month and would like to thank the Western New York community with daily specials on cookies, cupcakes and other delicious treats!

Located at 2525 William St. in Cheektowaga, near the I-90 entrance and exit, Cake Crazy Bakery is now offering daily specials every Tuesday through Friday: Tuesday is $1 cookie day, Wednesday is $2 cupcake day, Thursday is two slices of cake for $5, and Friday is buy two brownies and get one free.

One of Western New York’s favorite holidays — St. Patrick’s Day — is right around the corner, and Farmers & Artisans local food market and bakery is ready to help you celebrate!

For starters, Farmers & Artisans is now taking orders for fresh corned beef. The beef is raised locally at Librock Farms in Gasport, contains no hormones or antibiotics, and is brined using the secret recipe of Avenue Boys Smokehouse in Pendleton.  The corned beef sold out early last year so be sure to place your order soon.

Dog Ears Art Event Adds Second Artist

 

Dog Ears Bookstore & Café has announced that a second artist, Barbara Fox, will have work featured during an art show from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26. The work of artist Fred Fielding will also be featured at the event. The bookstore is located at 688 Abbott Road, Buffalo. 

The public is invited to attend the event, which will also feature music by DKM2 featuring David Kane and Michael Miskuly.

Winter Market on Hertel Continues on January 31

 

The new Winter Market on Hertel, housed in The Pasta Peddler/Blackbird Sweets location at 1547 Hertel Ave. in Buffalo, continues from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31. The market will run every Saturday through early April.

In addition to The Pasta Peddler and Blackbird Sweets, vendors taking part in the market on a full 20-week schedule include Alpine Made/First Light Farm & Creamery, Biscotti for Everybotti, Plato Dale Farm, Prudom Farms, Public Espresso & Coffee/BreadHive Worker Cooperative Bakery and White Cow Dairy! Participating on a 10-week rotating schedule are JJ’s Jams, Sandy’s Dandies, Chateau Buffalo, Fetch! Dog Treats and T-Meadow Farm.
